If you’ve never been to therapy before, it’s completely normal to have questions about how it works. Maybe your expectations come from movies, TV shows, or stories from people you know. But in reality, therapy doesn’t follow a one-size-fits-all model—there are different approaches and therapeutic styles, and the most important thing is finding one that makes sense for you.

A good therapeutic process goes beyond just talking: it’s grounded in evidence-based interventions that support your emotional well-being and help you develop effective strategies to navigate life’s challenges.

I like to think of therapy as teamwork. Together, we create a warm and safe space where you can explore your challenges without fear of judgment. By combining my knowledge of evidence-based psychology with your lived experience, we’ll walk side by side—so you can live a more meaninful life, without letting difficult thoughts or emotions take control of your journey.

Wondering if therapy is for you?

Therapy can be helpful for those navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, or other emotional difficulties. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit—therapy also offers a space for self-discovery, improving relationships, and making meaningful changes in your life. That said, there are situations where I may not be the most suitable professional—such as cases that require crisis intervention or specialized support for severe mental health conditions. In these situations, I’ll do my best to guide you toward the appropriate resources.

Everything starts with a free, no-obligation 20-minute introductory call. In this conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to share your needs and expectations around therapy, and I’ll explain my therapeutic approach. Together, we’ll explore whether I’m the right person to support you and if you’d like to move forward with the process.

Book your first therapy session to begin the process. New clients start with a package of 4 sessions.

Structure and duration

For therapy to be truly effective, consistency matters. That’s why sessions take place weekly and last 50 minutes. There’s no fixed timeline for the process—it really depends on your goals, what you bring to therapy, how engaged you feel, and the topics we’ll work through together.

Every therapist has their own style of practice. I work with a holistic view of mental health, which means I keep a broad perspective when working with clients and try to consider the many facets of what makes you, you - including your physical, social, and spiritual well-being, as well as your age, gender, nationality, language, culture, life experiences, and beliefs. All of these factors are important and influence our choices and how we interact with the world.

INVESTIMENT

What is my investment in thepapry?

After our initial conversation, you decide whether you’d like to begin therapy. If you feel aligned with the proposed approach, you can choose a package of 4 or 8 sessions—depending on your needs and goals. Once your initial package is completed, you may choose to continue on a per-session basis. Prices range from €95.

  • 8-Session Package: €760 (€95 per session).
  • 4-Session Package: €400 (€100 per session).

Single Session: €110 (available only for existing clients).

Payments must be made in Euro currency by bank transfer, credit/debit card or payment link via Stripe.

Suyanne Lima Psychologist is a private-pay practice, meaning we don’t work with insurance companies. We’ve made this choice intentionally—to protect your privacy, maintain ethical standards, and ensure the quality of care we provide. Because of this, you don’t need a referral from your GP (huisarts), and we can begin therapy right away. If you’re considering submitting for reimbursement, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand their requirements.
