Frequently Asked Questions
Treatment
Anyone above 18 years of age can benefit from my therapeutic services. No referral is needed to start treatment.
However, you must go through an initial evaluation to determine if I am the right professional to help you.
No. I am qualified to work with anyone within my professional abilities. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me.
Each 50-minute session is designed to provide dedicated support tailored to your needs. To build momentum and ensure consistent progress, sessions are held weekly at the start of treatment. This frequency helps establish a strong foundation, allowing us to address challenges as they arise and track growth effectively.
As progress is made, sessions may transition to a bi-weekly schedule based on individual needs, ensuring a balanced level of support as you move forward. Online and in-person sessions: €100
The therapeutic space is a non-judgmental and welcoming place. You can speak freely about anything important to you. My job is to support you with whatever your issues are, and judgment is not a part of that process.
Besides working with the subjects you bring up during therapy, as your therapist, I may suggest issues that I believe are relevant to be addressed during the sessions. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of this process, which is why I value transparency and sincerity during our journey working together.
Suppose you don't know exactly what to talk about during therapy. In that case, I want to assure you that, for some people, it takes time to express and share their emotions, and it sometimes takes a process of discovery before getting to the core of the issues. As a therapist, I am experienced in engaging in this discovery process together.
I offer a 20-min phone call (Introductory session) to determine if I am the right person to help you. This call is also an opportunity for you to get to know me and decide whether you would like to have me as your psychologist.
Schedulling
At the moment, my schedule is closed to new clients and will reopen in February 2025.
From January, you can schedule your first session by contacting me via WhatsApp, email, or by filling out the form in the contact section. Once I receive your request, I will contact you to schedule a free 20-min phone call where you can ask me all the questions you might have about my work.
Currently, I do not maintain a waiting list. The time frame to begin sessions typically ranges from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the availability of both parties.
New clients begin with a package of 4 sessions. After completing these initial sessions, you can choose to continue with individual pay-as-you-go sessions or purchase another session package. Please note that completing the package does not eliminate the need for weekly sessions if you decide to maintain regular therapy.
Online sessions
Studies show that online psychological counseling is effective for various needs. However, in some cases, this format may not be suitable. If that applies to you, I will inform you.
- Accessibility: You will be able to receive treatment from me anywhere in the world.
- Convenience: Sessions can be held in the comfort of your own home.
- Flexibility There is more flexibility in scheduling your appointments.
Online therapy consists of psychological counseling sessions conducted via video platforms. This modality works the same way as in-person sessions, with the key difference being that the sessions take place virtually.
Payments
Payments are made per session, with the due date set after each therapy session. For new clients, they start with a package of 4 sessions, which must be paid for prior to the first session. Once the package is completed, clients will either receive an invoice per session or have the option to purchase a new package, which must be paid on the day of the session. If payment is not made within the stipulated deadline, subsequent sessions will be suspended until the payment is settled.
Suyanne Lima Psychologist does not work with health insurance companies. Clients are responsible for paying for their sessions. In some cases, health insurance may partially cover therapy costs. However, it is important that you check directly with your insurer to confirm which services are covered. Regardless, the payment system for my services remains the same.
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation an appointment. Cancellations done with less than 48 hours prior to the appointment result in full charge of the session fee.
The 100% of the session fee will also be charged in cases of non-attendance to the session or delays of more than 15 minutes.
Complaints
If you have any complaints about my services or actions, I warmly encourage you to voice them directly to me. I am always willing to schedule a separate appointment, free of charge, to listen to your concerns. You can also send a written complaint to info@suyannelima.com.
In this case, you can involve an independent person. Please get in touch with the external complaints officer. For this, I work together with Klacht&Company. In consultation with you, the complaints officer supervises the submission and further handling of your complaint.
You start by submitting your complaint, preferably via the complaint form. You can find this form on the P3NL website: here. After you have filled out the form, you may email it to P3NL@klachtencompany.nl or send it by post to Klacht&Company, PO Box 3106, 2601 DC Delft. If you are unable to access the internet yourself, request a paper copy of the complaint form from Klacht&Company (088 – 234 16 01) by phone. Don't forget to include your mailing address.
